The aim of this course is to teach the components and types of the fixed partial dentures; the principals of anterior and posterior tooth preparations; the laboratory stages of fabricating provisional, jacket and metal full crowns; use of materials related to these procedures; types of the ceramic crowns. Knows the components and types of the FPD. Comprehends principles of anterior and posterior tooth preparation. Identifies fixed partial dentures. Knows materials and fabrication techniques of provisional crowns. Knows materials and fabrication techniques of working models and dies. Knows properties of dental wax and comprehends wax pattern fabrication. Comprehends the laboratory stages of jacket and full metal crowns. Knows spruing, investing and casting techniques, properties of related dental materials and the types of porcelain crowns.
