The goal of the course is to provide students with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the principles of biomedical imaging with a particular emphasis on solving design problems commonly encountered in the field of biomedical imaging and medicine.
The specific course objectives are to review in detail the fundamentals of biomedical imaging techniques and imaging device design, to expose students to problem-oriented design, to expose students to problems particular to biomedical imaging applications, to integrate the physiological concepts with biomedical device design and to prepare the students for solving design problems in any area of biomedical engineering.
