The course covers six main areas involving solar radiation, solar cells, and modules, solar cell systems, solar thermal, hybrid systems, and active solar energy systems. In this context: calculation of solar irradiance on surfaces, function, and connection of solar cells, module formations, system components, and their functions, thermodynamic descriptions of solar collectors, storage of solar-generated heat, a combination of solar thermal and solar cell systems, heating with solar thermal components, grid aspect of large scale deployment of solar cells, environmental and economic aspects.
