The overall aim of the course is to provide the learners with the insights into the study of language, morphological typology of languages, word formation processes, classifications of words, phrases and sentence structures, functional linguistics, TG grammar, Government and Binding, Minimalist Program, Semantics, Semantic Roles, Pragmatics: Speech Acts, Maxims of Conversation
