This course covers preparation of surveying, restitution and restoration projects and conducting necessary archive research on the preservation of historical structures. During a field survey, measuring and analyzing a historical structure is taught by considering its details. This course also includes researching the reasons leading to the deterioration of the structures, determining the appropriate preservation techniques (reinforcement, integration, reconstruction, refurbishment and restoration) that will eliminate any deterioration. The new structural function should be decided by studying the spatial, structural and frontal aspects of the building. In addition, the requirements and needs of the area in which the structure is situated should be investigated. For this reason, the area in which the structure is situated must be analyzed during the refunctioning phase.
