The expository essay is a tool that is often used in the academic world. The course is a continuation of TRSC105 where students will learn and elaborate on the structural components of expository writing with emphasis on introductory paragraphs, where the main thesis or objective is stated; several main body paragraphs, which provide or explain what is in the introduction; and a concluding paragraph where everything is summed up. This lesson offers courses in several areas: Expository Writing and English for Speakers of Other Languages (EXP courses); Literature and Creative Writing (LIT); Cinema Studies (CIN); Media & Culture (MC or EMS); and Language Studies and Communication Theory (COM). And that all LIT and CIN courses fulfill the Literature requirement in the General Education core.
