This course provides an introduction to the creative and technical aspects of short film production. It introduces the notion of short film as a cinematic genre from both artistic and historical perspectives. Course content includes the aims, history, production-directing stages, and techniques of short films and the process of converting an idea to visual expression. The course aims to provide theoretical and practical knowledge about the production and directing stages of the short film, and enables students to produce their own short film. Significant examples of short films will be analyzed and students will be encouraged to write, produce, direct, edit and present their own short films.
