the course covers the theory of international economics with particular emphasis on the monetary side including international monetary standards,types of exchange rates regimes, the balances of payments and systems of international payments. On the institutional side it presents a review and analysis of the IMF, the FED, ECB, the Central Bank of Japan.

Following this, it looks at major international banks and other payments institutions analyzing how they are structured, how they function, their policies and major activities.

The next section deals with the auditing and control of international banks making references to major auditing firms and monetary authorities.

Finally, examples are given of major current issues in international economic policy and of most recent issues regarding international banks and payments institutions.
