This course develops further knowledge of the grammar and of essential vocabulary in order to lead the students to a pre-intermediate level of proficiency. Also, emphasis is placed on developing listening, speaking, reading and writing skills through an integrated approach. Students will participate in conversations by using the acquired vocabulary on familiar topics like family life, school subjects and education. Moreover, students are introduced to affirmative, negative sentences and questions in the Present Simple, Present Continuous and Past Simple Tenses. They will make reservations, ask for information and have daily conversations on the phone. By exposing students to a wide variety of reading passages, they will acquire adequate practice in scanning to find information from texts and guess meaning from context.
