This course will provide an introduction to the concept of labour and employment law. Topics to be covered are history and theory of modern labour law including the study of the International Labour Orgainzation, the scope of rights protection in employment, context, employment contracts, minimum wage and working time regulations, right to collective barganing and strike  job security and fair dismissal; and redundancies. The legal framework for the course will be based on the English Employment Law however comparative examples will be provided in order to equip the students with conceptual understanding of the basics of labour and employment law.
