A critical understanding of the roles of architectural design, aesthetics, and materiality in shaping the built environment. The objective of this course is to deal with visual art elements and principles, the aesthetics of everyday life, natural environments and also human and human-influenced ones. The course begins with the analysis and criticism of theoretical concepts and viewpoints which are related to the subject of the study. In the process of devising, learning and understanding the theories related to environmental aesthetics, students will apply their knowledge gained from the course through a field study which will be either an urban district or a village.
