The aim of this course is to prepare effectively for the graduation project and to familiarize them with the concept of research, methods and techniques that are used specifically in design discipline. While doing this, the primary purpose is to make students to identify a subject, collect information and data systematically, make analysis and synthesis and make a presentation on the findings. The additional aim of this course is to develop an understanding of making research and writing a proper academic paper. Constructing the conceptual and theoretical aim of this course is to develop an understanding of theoretical context of the interested disciplines such as history, environment, economy, technology, social sciences, and psychology etc. transformation of these data into architectural knowledge. Interpretation and presentation of these context in an architectural design problem. Case studies of spaces and places will be undertaken and the understanding of architecture through structural, sociological and environmental determinants will be developed.
