This course aims to transform the fundamental knowledge acquired by interior architecture students regarding building elements, construction methods, and detail resolution principles into advanced application-based knowledge. Within the scope of the course, roof systems, stairs, door and window systems, wall openings, parapets, railing and handrail details, as well as wall, floor, and ceiling finishes, are examined at the interior architecture scale. Flat and pitched roofs, roof covering systems, waterproofing, rainwater drainage solutions, and terrace roof details are evaluated in terms of building performance. Students analyze the relationships between structural and finishing elements, integrating material selection, detail development, and application decisions with interior design processes. By the end of the course, students are expected to develop applicable interior design decisions by considering technical requirements, construction methods, and detail resolution principles.
