This course will introduce functionalist and descriptive translation theories. Translation practice will be done with operative and informative texts. Translator education is normally used to refer to the kind of instruction that students receive in the larger social contexts of universities. This kind of instruction is integral and offers students the possibility to see translation as an activity linked to societal and humanistic issues.
