The aim of this course is to introduce students to gastroenterology.
Course subjects includes symptoms of gastrointestinal system disease, organic
and functional dysphagia and dyspepsia, chronic diarrhea, malabsorption
syndrome, colon polyps, polyposis coli syndrome, gastroesophageal reflux
disease, peptic ulcer, helicobacter pylori, clinical interpretation of liver
function tests, jaundice, bleeding in the gastrointestinal system, chronic
abdominal pain, liver cirrhosis, alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty liver
disease, chronic hepatitis syndrome, gallbladder and gallstones disease,
colonitis, etiology and diagnosis of portal hypertension. Pathology, pharmacology,
surgery, infectious diseases, pediatric surgery, radiology and oncology of the
gastrointestinal system will be covered.
