Interior Architecture Basic Design Studio I introduces the elements of basic design such as point, line, plane, and volume to the students. It also includes design principles such as Gestalt principles; abstraction; introduction to principles of composition; expansion; analogy; metaphor; balance; contrast; emphasis; proportion; rhythm; unity and variety. Colors in composition; focal point; position; repetition; sequence; radiation; sense of direction are also studied. The aim of the course is to motivate creativity, hand-eye coordination and artistic perception by focusing on the basics of design elements and design principles. After the completion of this course, the student will be able to understand and apply basic design principles in design process and be able to develop solutions to basic design problems of interior architecture.
