This course outlines the common graphic tools available in layout design, typography and type design. Students will learn how to great their own type, modify it and add it to existing fonts. The basic operations of the computer and its applications to art and design are introduced. Issues studied are word processing, laying and typography as used in desktop publishing. It is imperative they understand that using design programs such as Photoshop, Corel-Draw, Illustrator is only a tool like pen or brush. Creatively, innovatively and effectively use of these tools only possible of understanding and using graphic design principles. The aim of this course is for the students to develop their ability of using Photoshop, Corel-Draw, İndesign effectively and create images that successfully reproduce on paper or the web.
