While the main objective of the theoretical part of this course is to introduce students to the main interior design concepts and methods, the students are expected to realise what they learn from the theoretical part of the course through an interior design project. Both the theoretical part and the design project of this course focuses on the relations of human and the interior space especially in the context of physical, psychological, sociocultural and socioeconomic needs of the user. While dealing with the identity issues of both the corporate and the individual user, regarding the interactivity issues in the contemporary spaces, by encouraging the use of the contemporary and high-tech finishing materials and fixtures, students are expected to satisfy physical (lighting, acoustics, etc.) and psychological demands, concerning comfort, of a hypothetical user in their design project.
