The aim of this course is to teach the therapeutic exercises used in physiotherapy in the pool environment and to teach the in-water treatment methods. The main goal of the summer practice is to plan the patient-specific assessment and rehabilitation program for the students and to apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in various clinical settings. During the internship, the student will make the necessary evaluation and identification for physiotherapy and rehabilitation applications under the supervision of a physiotherapist. Patient-specific physiotherapy and rehabilitation program is written by consultant physiotherapist. Basic knowledge and skills about physiotherapy and rehabilitation programs are being watched. It is a 4-week program and the practice reports will be submitted to the department management for evaluation. The written report prepared during the evaluation is regarded as a general evaluation in the nature reflecting the contents of the internship.

This course aims to inform physiotherapy students about the orthotic applications. The followings are expected from the students who completed the course successfully; to make assessment before and after orthotics, to be aware of the different orthotic materials and ready products, to be aware of the possible complications of orthotic applications, to plan and apply the appropriate treatment program to increase the effectiveness of orthotic and rehabilitation. Frequent pathologies of the foot and ankle, orthotic applications, indications of long foot orthoses, commonly orthosis applications, spinal deformity orthoses (scoliosis, kyphosis, increasing and decreasing in lordosis etc.), spinal pathology orthoses (vertebra fractures, the intramedullary trauma, instabilities etc.) take place in the scope of this course.

The aim of this course is to understand mechanics and function of the appropriate prosthesis for the patient with amputee or congenital limb deficiencies, to plan the appropriate treatment program for amputees, to improve awareness about advanced technological applications in the field of prosthetics and rehabilitation. Necessary evaluations for planning rehabilitation stages as well as mechanical basis of prosthesis, types of prosthesis, gait problems in lower extremity amputees, early and temporary prosthesis applications, myoelectric prosthesis, advanced technological prosthesis applications and amputee rehabilitation. Upper extremity amputee rehabilitation, stages, appropriate physiotherapy approaches and prosthetic training, early and temporary prosthesis applications, advanced technological prosthesis applications in lower and upper extremity amputations are other aims of the course.

In this course, the definition and the principles of pulmonary rehabilitation, purposes and application techniques of chest physiotherapy, the evaluation of respiratory diseases in terms of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, planning of physiotherapy and rehabilitation program, physiotherapy approaches and related methods in intensive care unit are aimed to gain. Basics of respiratory physiology and respiratory diseases, the steps of the pulmonary evaluation, the ability to make decisions about physiotherapy and rehabilitation of the respiratory system diseases, evaluation of the quality of life and psychological status of patients with respiratory problems, therapy techniques used in pulmonary rehabilitation-breathing exercises, huffing, cough, dyspnea positions, manual techniques, active cycle of breathing techniques, pulmonary rehabilitation after surgery will take place in the scope of this course.

The aim of this course is to identify the problems in patients with cardiovascular problems, to evaluate patients with appropriate assessment methods, to choose cardiac rehabilitation approaches and applications, and to plan and implement the appropriate treatment program for the patient.
