Early Observation of Clinics is designed to introduce medical students to fundamental clinical and professional competencies through structured observation and supervised clinical practice. This course focuses on the development of effective patient-physician communication, essential clinical skills, and early exposure to real-world healthcare environments.
Students will actively engage in supervised clinical settings, where they will practice fundamental skills such as patient history-taking, basic physical examination techniques, and vital sign measurement. Through direct observation and guided interactions, they will develop a professional approach to patient care, refine their communication skills, and gain insight into the responsibilities of a physician. Simulated patient encounters and structured role-playing exercises will further reinforce their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical clinical contexts.
The primary objective of this course is to equip students with the foundational skills, professional attitudes, and ethical principles necessary for competent and compassionate medical practice. By integrating experiential learning with structured clinical exposure, Early Observation of Clinics provides a critical introduction to the practical aspects of medical training and the physician’s role in patient care.
