ARCH 613 Effects of Climate and Energy on Settlements Design
In this course, it is aimed to study the effects of climate and energy on settlements design. Definitions of climate, energy and energy sources. Introduction of climatic factors (sun, solar radiation, temperature, humidity of air and wind) and the characteristics of natural or built environment (man-made). The effects of these factors on the settlement designs. The relationship between design variables for the buildings and climate, considering the settlement elements as a design parameters for energy conservation and for bioclimatic comfort. The definition and application of energy sources (renewable, non-renewable energy sources) for settlement designs are included within the scope of the course.
