This course provides an advanced, systems-based understanding of solid waste management with a strong focus on quantitative waste analysis, system design, performance evaluation, and decision-making tools. Students examine solid waste streams from generation to final disposal, integrating engineering, environmental, economic, and regulatory perspectives. Emphasis is placed on waste characterization, data analysis, modeling, and optimization of modern solid waste management systems, including circular economy and sustainability approaches.
