The objective of this course is basically to
provide the students with a solid and improved knowledge in both the classical
and modern theories of both reservoir simulation and the modelling thereof. In
this respect, partial differential equations related with fluid
flow in porous media as well as the use of the finite-difference equations in
solving reservoir flow problems for various boundary conditions will also be
introduced in detail within the scope of the course. Also, the fundamentals of
petroleum reservoir simulation and modelling will also be on the agenda of the
course. The students will also be supplied with real life worked examples in
relation to reservoir simulation and modelling.
