It is an elective course in doctorate program in architecture. It deals with the Traditional Turkish House which is the main concept of vernacular Turkish architecture. While explaining the common principles of the Turkish House, the main aim is to give an understanding of the relations between the building and lifestyle.
Through a series of lectures and discussions, students will continue to develop an understanding of the complexities of perceiving the lifestyle during the Ottoman period and the different types of building materials and techniques in Anatolia. Moreover, site visits to the old city centers in Cyprus will be organized to observe the preserved examples.
