This course offers critical introduction to the main issues and debates in western political theory, including but not limited to the topics of justice, legitimacy, equality, democracy, liberty, sovereignty, state, governance, emancipation as well as diverse political concepts and models. This course is designed as a discussion on political thought among major thinkers, their concepts and models of politics. Major political thinkers and their concepts will be examined by historical periods and the changing discourses within the mentioned historical periods will be discussed.
